Share this WhatsApp LinkedIn Facebook X Share Chinese Teacher (Mandarin) St Michael's Grammar School Closing date: 05/06/2026 St Michael's Grammar School are seeking a passionate Chinese Teacher to deliver effective teaching, learning and caring programs across Years K - 7. This is a full-time, fixed term position, from the last week of August 2026 until the end of term 1, 2027. You will be aligned with the School's ethos, vision and values. You are curious, motivated and energised by learning, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth. What you'll do: Plan and deliver engaging and effective Chinese language lessons for students in years K-6. Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment. Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Assess, monitor and report on student progress. Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and best practice. Contribute to the broader life of the School, including co-curricular activities where appropriate. Foster strong, respectful relationships with students, families and staff.
The successful applicant must:
Hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). Demonstrate an ability to teach Chinese from Years K-6. Possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students. Have high level communication skills. Be able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team. Understand the Reggio Emilia Educational Project. This is not essential but will be highly regarded. Hold First Aid/Anaphylaxis certificates or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement. Why St Michael's?
