Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant faith community as a Church Sexton, a vital role dedicated to maintaining the sacred space and supporting the spiritual and operational needs of our church. As a Church Sexton, you will be the cornerstone of our church's cleanliness, safety, and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that every visitor and member feels at home. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster a respectful environment for worship, events, and outreach programs. This paid position offers an opportunity to serve with purpose while developing skills in facility management, event coordination, and church community support. Duties Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the church building, including sanctuaries, offices, restrooms, and common areas Prepare the church for worship services, special events, and community gatherings by setting up chairs, tables, audio-visual equipment, and decorations Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify repairs or safety hazards and coordinate timely maintenance or repairs Manage security protocols by monitoring access points during services and events to ensure safety for all attendees Support special service/events by assisting with set-up, support coordination, and post-event cleanup Skills Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff, congregation members, volunteers, and community partners Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail in cleaning, maintenance, and event setup Leadership qualities to support volunteers and team efforts during large events Skilled in building and property management to address issues promptly and maintain a welcoming and safe environment If you're energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to fostering a welcoming and clean space for all—this is your chance to make a meaningful impact!
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
