Job Description

Our client, Zinman & Company (Southampton, PA), is regarded as a top accounting firm, providing professional accounting and bookkeeping services, as well as, comprehensive and expedient business tax services. Zinman & Company is seeking a Payroll Processer/Bookkeeper to join the existing team, servicing the needs of payroll clients by processing payroll, remitting taxes, and following up on notices for multiple payroll clients on time; while working accurately and in regulatory compliance. Payroll experience on multiple platforms required. This is not a remote position.
Duties and tasks may include:
1. Review, monitor, and audit time and time and attendance entries for payroll. 2. Set up and monitor PTO accruals, deplete time from PTO banks as appropriate. 3. Set up and monitor 401(k) contributions and remittances. 4. Enter and process employee payroll with accurate earnings (including overtime calculations), commissions, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and another variables. 5. Submit local, state, and federal payroll taxes. 6. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. 7. Review and approve employee title, name, and address changes to ensure accurate reporting and payroll processing. 8. Respond to payroll inquiries and notices with subject matter expertise and in a timely manner. 9. Register clients in new states as may be required. 10. Assist with W-2, 1099, and 1095 reporting. 11. Assist with other bookkeeping-related duties and projects, as assigned. 12. Demonstrate a customer centric approach by developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients through ongoing communication and consulting services. Highly qualified candidates will possess most of the following:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years' of payroll experience in multiple platforms/software.
  • Experience with multi-state entities preferred but not required.
  • Experience with prevailing wage preferred but not required.
  • Experience processing payroll for tipped employees preferred but not required.
  • In-depth payroll tax knowledge at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Active listener and clear communicator, with the ability to manage multiple projects/clients simultaneously while providing an exceptionally positive customer experience.
