We're hiring a Heavy HaulGirder Driver to join County Prestress & Precast, LLC of Companies in Salem, IL.
Job Summary:
As a Girder Driver, you will deliver girders and related products using Class A CDL while ensuring safe, timely, and compliant transportation. This position involves operating tractor-trailer combinations, performing DOT inspections, securing oversized or heavy loads, and transporting materials in compliance with federal, state, and local DOT regulations. The Girder Driver role requires strong CDL driving experience, attention to safety, load securement knowledge, and professional customer interaction in an outdoor, construction-related environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Demonstrate customer service while interfacing with clients. Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and in route inspections on all equipment, including security devices. Properly secure load prior to transport following DOT regulations. Operate tractor trailer combinations. Transport product while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Perform duties consistent with all safety policies, including utilizing proper PPE. Participate in loading and unloading girders. Perform route surveys prior to delivery. Ensure cleanliness and good operating conditions for assigned tractors. Receive work assignments and report back on job completion. Use consistent communication with dispatchers. Maintain customer relations by acting in a professional, courteous manner. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Class A CDL prior to hire. Minimum of 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience required. "T" Endorsement for doubles and triples preferred.
Work Environment:
Work in outdoor weather conditions. Work near moving machinery and equipment. Work in a noisy environment.
Overnight Travel required:
5% or as needed
