Job Title:

Class A or B CDL Driver In accordance with our significant growth and our continual investment in our customer base, DC Waste & Recycling is seeking applicants for a full-time hourly driver position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting waste and recycling containers along designated routes using a rear-load, side-load or front-load garbage truck. The role requires effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate a tablet device for route navigation and tracking purposes. This position is located in Hillsboro, IL and has typical hours of Monday

• Friday from 5:30 am
• 3:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities:

• Execute daily pickups of waste and recyclables along designated routes, ensuring timely and efficient completion of scheduled pickups.
• Utilize a tablet device for route navigation, following established maps and schedules to optimize pickup efficiency.
• Use the tablet to accurately record pickup data, including route deviations, incomplete stops, and any relevant information required for reporting purposes.
• Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
• Safely operate vehicle, adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols at all times.
• Perform routine inspections on vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Maintain clean vehicle by cleaning cab interior, picking up after yourself, etc.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and residents along pickup routes, addressing any inquiries or concerns effectively.
• Follow company policies and procedures regarding waste disposal, recycling guidelines, and safety protocols.
• Attend safety meetings.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate pickups, address challenges, and ensure smooth operations throughout the workday.

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

Commercial driving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

Air Brake Endorsement (Preferred) Driver's License (Required) CDL B or CDL B Permit (Required)
