Job Description
Hydroseeding Operator Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Hydroseeding Operator to join our erosion control team. The ideal candidate will operate hydroseeding equipment to apply seed, mulch, fertilizer, and water mixtures to designated areas for lawn establishment, erosion control, or vegetation restoration.Key Responsibilities:
Operate hydroseeding trucks and equipment safely and efficiently. Mix and load seed, mulch, tackifier, fertilizer, and water according to job specifications. Ensure accurate application of hydroseed mixtures across target areas. Perform pre- and post-operation equipment checks and routine maintenance. Interpret site plans, layouts, and instructions from supervisors or project managers. Assist with site preparation including soil grading, raking, and debris removal. Maintain records of materials used and project completion details. Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations. Communicate with clients or site personnel as needed.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of experience in landscaping, erosion control, or hydroseeding preferred. Valid driver's license (CDL Class B or A preferred). Knowledge of seed types, fertilizers, and mulch products. Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions and specifications.Working Conditions:
Outdoor work in various weather and terrain conditions. Regular lifting of materials up to 50 lbs. Extended periods of standing, walking, and equipment operation. Preferred Skills (Optional): Experience with erosion control regulations and BMPs (Best Management Practices). Ability to operate other landscaping equipment (e.g., skid steers, tractors).
