Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position where your skills as a paraprofessional make a meaningful difference each day. Work closely with adult learners, ages 18 to 26, in a specialized Adult Transition Program focused on fostering independence and real-world success. Your efforts will empower students not only in the classroom but also as they explore the wider community and workplace. This opportunity offers consistent hours from approximately 7:45 a.m. until 2:45/3:00 p.m., providing a stable daytime schedule ideal for maintaining work-life balance. You will collaborate with education professionals and directly impact students as they navigate important life and job skills.
Key Qualifications:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with young adults Commitment to respectful, inclusive support for individuals with diverse learning needs Flexibility to assist students in both classroom and community settings Collaborative mindset and willingness to follow individual education plans
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide attentive support to students during classroom instruction and activities Accompany students on community outings and assist with job site tasks Encourage independence and self-advocacy in a variety of real-life settings Communicate effectively with educators, therapists, and families as part of a care team Support behavior management and safety protocols throughout the school day Take on a vital role that not only supports students but also celebrates every milestone they achieve.
