Job Description
Responsible for FDA mandated duties related to documentation of mammography care provided, including but not limited to required results letters, notification of abnormal findings to patients and physicians, etc. These duties require a high degree of accuracy for patient records as well as federally mandated requirements for performance of mammography care. Demonstrates professional ethics and communication skills with all encounters. Responsible for all breast related image transfer processes.

Functions Area of Responsibilities Coordinates all breast related image transfer whether electronic, CD, etc., within THS, to and from outside facilities. Demonstrates high proficiency in the use of Epic, PACS, Powershare, Powerscribe, etc. Exhibits department and facility mission characteristics with patients, visitors, family members, co-workers, physicians, and or office staff members and others they may come in contact with as a representative of Tanner Health System, always presenting exemplary customer service. Maintains confidentiality of all patient data and medical information. Participates in PI activities. Knowledge of and participates in activities related to Joint Commission accreditation. Makes suggestions for improvement of patient care, processes, or procedures. Monitors environment promoting maintenance of patient, employee, and visitor safety. Makes independent decisions and displays emotional maturity. Utilizes sound judgement in making decisions in the absence of supervisor. Responsible for assuring that prompt and accurate services are provided to all customers. Distinguishes and responds correctly to disaster and/or emergency situations. Participates in orientation of new employees. Performs other related duties as assigned. Reviews daily mammography schedule to determine appropriate study is scheduled based on any previous Bi-RADS recommendation. Responsible for determining previous studies are available in electronic format for patients who have had studies performed outside THS. Solely responsible for inputting FDA required documentation of Radiologist's assessment, review and recommendation into Epic system. Solely responsible for generating FDA required Result Letter for each mammography study performed, assuring high degree of accuracy. Mammography reports are included to those patients who self-refer (mandated by FDA). Solely responsible for FDA required process of notifying ordering physician of abnormal mammogram result resulting in recommendation of surgical consultation and maintains receipt of this notification. Solely responsible for generation and coordination of FDA required mammography reminder letters (recommended follow-up). Effectively and appropriately communicates with patients, visitors, or professional staff encountered, always presenting exemplary customer service. Compliance Statement Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.Required Knowledge & Skills Education:
