Job Description
Client Intake is responsible for ensuring smooth and professional intake experience for individuals seeking assistance through a VMC program. The primary responsibilities of Client Intake are to gather basic information to connect the individual to appropriate VMC staff or other agencies. This role serves as the first point of contact for clients visiting or calling the VMC office and plays a critical role in the initial screening and intake process while maintaining accurate documentation and providing administrative support to the case management and program teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Function as the initial point of contact for Veterans seeking assistance; providing clear information about available services. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when managing sensitive client data. Ensure all intake documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with case managers, program managers, and support staff to ensure smooth program entry for eligible clients. Ensure consistent availability and responsiveness during scheduled business hours. Monitor office supplies and maintain cleanliness and organization of common spaces. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.Qualifications:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in human services, social work, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a front desk, customer service, administrative, or intake role within a nonprofit or social services setting. Knowledge of veteran services or housing programs is preferred. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel). Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively. Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
