Handbook, tracking with improvement regarding the VA's CBOC Quality and Process improvement requirements, and oversee resolution of all VA Grievances pertaining to medical treatment plans or negative bedside manner from a provider. In addition, the Medical Director will be responsible for a patient panel of 600-800 patients with the assistance of an assigned nursing and administrative staff. This translates to ruffly 4-5 patients seen a day. In this role you will work closely with the corporate team to implement strategies that enhance patient care and improve the CBOC medical practice. Clinovators has identified four key roles of the CBOC Medical Director, as follows. Role 1—Physician Leadership The Clinic Medical Director serves as the Physician that is personally responsible for the providers assigned to the CBOC clinics (Physicians and APPs) and will hold them accountable for their performance and practice, including corrective actions as needed. The Clinic Medical Director will also create and nurture a culture of partnership, support, appreciation, and open communication between all providers within the CBOC clinics and themself. This will be accomplished through consistent provider meetings and dialogue that builds positive work relationships with each provider. Role 2—Patient Care-Clinical Leadership The Clinic Medical Director applies clinical and administrative skills to guide the facility in providing care keeping in mind the VA guidelines, when applicable. The Clinic Medical Director will receive, review, and provide feedback on all VA Grievances made by the clinic's assigned Veterans that pertain to medical treatment plans or negative bedside manner from a provider, for quality-of-care improvement and bi-annual provider performance plans. Role 3—Quality of Care The Clinic Medical Director helps the facility develop and manage both quality and safety initiatives, including risk management. This is done thorough various avenues such as Medical Competencies, Standard Operating Procedures, Human Resource Policies, or training initiatives. Role 4—Education, Information, and Communication The Clinic Medical Director provides information that helps Providers and Support Staff understand the company's goals and initiatives related to operational and medical requirements. Responsibilities of the Clinic Medical Director Work directly with providers to educate them on our care process and determine what can be done to improve overall quality of care. Manage activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such as cost management, clinical utilization review, quality assurance, provider productivity, and medical protocol development. Provide coaching to providers (professionalism, bedside manner, clinical protocols, etc.) Ensure surrogacy SOP is followed with equality as the foundation. Complete performance evaluations and performance improvement plans for Providers. Hold providers accountable and ensure they provide direct patient care either Face to Face or by VA Video Conference during their designated shifts each week. Ensure company Unpaid & PTO requests, Arrive Late & Leave Early requests, Bereavement, and CME policies are followed; ensure providers do not engage support staff for these items. Participate in various internal administrative and clinical staff meetings for the entire duration; to include mandatory VA meetings such as the PACT Collaborative meetings for Primary Care Maintain confidentiality of all information related to patients, providers, and support staff. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations in dealing with fellow employees, regardless of role. Be openly available for direct communication and support from providers regarding medical care questions. Ensure any VA mandated requirements of providers are upheld, met, and documented. Respond to various corporate and clinical paperwork through completion and signature if needed. Work with Executive Leadership team to achieve and maintain Joint Commission Certification Ensure all Veterans assigned to the clinic receive one (1) vesting/qualifying encounter with their assigned provider each year. Qualifying encounter codes are listed below. Ensure providers use appropriate stop codes and note templates to capture correct appointment visit type. Develop corporate and clinical related standard operating procedures. Enforce and coach on Clinovators customer service experience requirements. Ensure providers participate in and abide by quality assurance, grievance procedure, peer review, confidentiality, or credentialing programs and systems in which Clinovators may establish and maintain. Ensure providers follow Clinovators VA Video Conference SOP Reinforce provider productivity with a focus on vesting visits & new patients. Educate providers on their Clinic Utilization status monthly; goal is -10 or +10 from 100% Support equality in patient acuity among providers. Provide training on VSE, CPRS, and other VA electronic medical systems. Other duties as assigned.
