At Little Oaks Pediatrics, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care to children and families in our community. Our team combines clinical excellence with genuine compassion to create a supportive and welcoming environment for every child we serve.
Sign-on Bonus:
$5,000, paid in installments—50% at 90 days, 25% at 6 months, and the remaining 25% at 12 months—subject to eligibility and continued employment.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinic Nurse to join our growing pediatric practice. Our Clinic Nurses collaborate closely with providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered pediatric care in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This role is instrumental in driving efficient patient flow, conducting thorough clinical assessments, and ensuring precise collection and documentation of screening data. The Clinic Nurse also supports in-office exams and procedures while serving as a trusted resource for patient and family education—promoting clear communication, continuity of care, and an exceptional overall experience.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff members in a professional and courteous manner. Politely escort patients from waiting room to exam room. Obtain patient medical history in electronic health records (EHR), vital signs, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens, and assist with examinations. Complete all forms, prior authorizations, and paperwork as requested by provider to facilitate patient care. Monitors the quality of care based on pre-established outcome-oriented indicators. Updating patient's chart under the direction of the provider during patient visits, recording detailed information into the electronic health records (EHR) system, including medical histories, physical examinations, and treatment plans while using medical terminology and abbreviations according to all clinical quality measures. Review patient charts for completeness after visit or after phone call. Provide documentation to patients with clear instructions and / or education regarding their care plan. Prepare exam and treatment rooms before and after patient visit; be sure room is equipped with necessary instruments and supplies for patient's visit, package and sterilize instruments as needed, ensure room is properly sanitized and ready for patient, and monitor inventory, notifying management if supplies need to be ordered. Understand the Vaccines for Children Program. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly nursing duties according to schedule including, but not limited to, laboratory quality checks, refrigerator temperature monitoring, and check eye wash station. Return messages and follow up on patient requests either by telephone or patient portal in a timely manner. Ensure laboratory tests and results are in alignment with regulatory compliance. Other Responsibilities Maintain strict confidentiality; adheres to all OSHA, HIPAA, and other federal, state, and local guidelines/regulations. Demonstrate dedication to the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization. Regular and reliable attendance including attending monthly staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Active, unrestricted LPN or RN license in the state of North Carolina Minimum of two (2) years of professional nursing experience Availability to participate in a rotating half-day Saturday schedule (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) every 3-4 weeks, with a corresponding half-day off during the week (clinic is closed on Saturdays during summer months) Current BLS certification Preferred Qualifications Pediatric experience in an outpatient, inpatient, or emergency department setting is highly preferred Bilingual in Spanish What You Bring Genuine passion for improving the health and well-being of children and families from diverse backgrounds High emotional intelligence with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines Proficiency with computer systems and a willingness to learn new technologies Collaborative team player with strong conflict resolution and relationship-building skills
