Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A hospital pharmacist role is available to manage inpatient pharmacy services under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Services Director. This position requires recent inpatient experience within the last three years and a thorough understanding of pharmacy operations within a hospital setting. The pharmacist will ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations while overseeing the procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage inpatient pharmaceutical services, including drug procurement, storage, and distribution. Review and operate all drug distribution systems efficiently within licensing frameworks. Provide drug information and consultation to healthcare professionals. Maintain and update Pharmacy Services Policy and Procedure Manual to comply with regulatory changes. Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmaceutical regulations. Support cost-saving initiatives via formulary management and purchasing procedures. Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing methods of accountability and policy implementation. Verify all inpatient medication orders for safety and appropriateness. Identify and confirm patients' home medications prior to administration. Maintain pharmaceuticals and emergency kits (crash carts, STEMI kits, OB kits, clinic kits, etc.). Uphold quality assurance, controlled substance security, and hazardous waste disposal standards. Manage pharmacy and automated inventory systems. Resolve medication discrepancies promptly. Keep detailed records of pharmaceutical procurement, dispensing, destruction, and billing. Complete all administrative tasks related to compliance and license maintenance on time. Provide weekend retail pharmacy coverage and serve as on-call pharmacist during shifts. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Inpatient pharmacy experience within the last three years is mandatory. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare staff and administration. Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. Professional behavior and excellent communication skills. Experience in managing pharmacy inventory, controlled substances, and emergency medication kits.

Canby, CA This is a contract position offering the opportunity to apply your clinical pharmacy expertise in a supportive hospital environment.
