Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A dedicated clinical pharmacist role is available at a leading women's health facility in Houston, TX, providing care overnight at the Pavilion for Women site. This opportunity is a 14-week contract starting May 18, with a structured 7-on/7-off overnight schedule from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., working within an
EPIC EMR
system.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care by identifying, preventing, and resolving drug-related problems.
  • Ensure the appropriateness of all medication doses considering diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions to minimize medication incidents.
  • Accurately enter and process medication orders to guarantee the correct medications are dispensed without errors.
  • Deliver medication doses within established guidelines, maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.
  • Follow strict aseptic technique and infection control procedures in preparing sterile products, ensuring both personal adherence and compliance from colleagues.
  • Maintain certification standards by completing annual recertification with a high level of proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably with a pediatric focus.
  • Valid Texas pharmacist license.
  • ACPE IV Sterile Compounding Certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Proven ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
