Harmony Haven is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and compliance-focused Clinical Supervisor to lead and support clinical services within our licensed residential alcohol and drug treatment program. The Clinical Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in ensuring high-quality, person-centered care while maintaining compliance with Maine licensing standards, evidence-based practices, and ethical treatment guidelines. The ideal candidate is an experienced Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) with strong knowledge of residential treatment operations, licensing requirements, and staff development. This leader must demonstrate the ability to meet clients where they are in their recovery journey while fostering a culture of accountability, compassion, professionalism, and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Supervision Provide direct clinical supervision and leadership to counselors, case managers, recovery staff, and interns. Provide individual counseling to small caseload of residents when needed. Ensure clinical services are trauma-informed, individualized, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented. Support staff in meeting clients where they are at emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and behaviorally. Conduct regular supervision sessions, case reviews, documentation reviews, and performance feedback. Assist staff with treatment planning, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and clinical decision-making. Promote ethical standards and professional boundaries in all clinical services. Compliance & Licensing Oversight Maintain compliance with Maine state licensing requirements for residential alcohol and drug treatment programs. Monitor adherence to bed licensing regulations, occupancy requirements, staffing ratios, and program standards. Ensure all documentation meets state, federal, and payer requirements. Prepare for licensing reviews, audits, inspections, and accreditation activities. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and clinical protocols aligned with regulatory standards. Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance throughout all operations. Quality Assurance & Program Development Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance client outcomes and program effectiveness. Review clinical records for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Assist with program development, implementation of evidence-based practices, and workflow improvements. Support data collection, incident reviews, and corrective action planning. Collaborate with leadership to strengthen clinical programming and residential services. Client Care & Team Collaboration Provide support during complex clinical situations, crises, and client escalations. Collaborate with medical providers, community agencies, recovery supports, probation officers, DHHS representatives, and referral sources. Help create a safe, respectful, and healing environment for residents and staff. Promote holistic recovery practices that support mind, body, and spirit wellness. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and treatment planning. Staff Training & Development Train and mentor clinical staff on best practices, documentation standards, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, relapse prevention, and recovery support. Support onboarding and professional development for new staff members. Encourage continuous learning and staff growth. Assist in maintaining staff competency and credentialing requirements.
Qualification:
Required Qualifications Active Maine licensure in a behavioral health-related field. Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) credential or eligibility preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) Experience working in residential treatment settings. Strong understanding of Maine licensing regulations and compliance standards. Experience with clinical documentation review and quality assurance. Knowledge of ASAM criteria, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented treatment. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively supervise and support multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing licensed residential treatment bed capacity and compliance. Experience preparing programs for audits, inspections, or accreditation reviews. Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
