About the
Role:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at EMH, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients within our healthcare facility. Your primary focus will be to support nursing staff by assisting patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. You will be responsible for monitoring patients' health status and reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, effective communication, and teamwork to contribute to positive health outcomes. Ultimately, your work will directly impact the well-being and recovery of patients, making you an essential member of the healthcare services team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current and valid CNA certification recognized by the state. High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of patient care and safety procedures. Ability to pass a background check and health screening. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a CNA in a healthcare setting. CPR and First Aid certification. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Additional training in specialized care areas such as geriatrics or rehabilitation. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Provide mobility support by helping patients move safely within the facility and assisting with exercises as directed. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and assisting with room preparation. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and compassionate care. Report any changes in patients' conditions or concerns to the nursing staff promptly. Support nursing staff with basic clinical tasks and documentation as required.
