Job Description

Lead Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Night Shift (NOC) Position Summary The Lead NOC CNA is responsible for supporting and guiding CNA staff during the night shift to ensure quality resident care, efficient workflow, and compliance with facility policies and procedures. This position serves as a working leader on the floor and assists with communication, shift coordination, task delegation, and problem-solving throughout the shift. The Lead NOC CNA is not responsible for staffing schedules but will assist in ensuring their assigned shifts Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide direct resident care in accordance with individualized care plans, facility policies, and state/federal regulations. Serve as the primary CNA lead/resource person during the night shift. Assist in coordinating workflow and assignments to ensure resident needs are met timely and appropriately. Support and monitor CNA staff performance during the shift and provide real-time guidance as needed. Communicate resident concerns, incidents, changes in condition, staffing concerns, and shift updates to the licensed nurse on duty. Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and positive communication among staff. Assist with training, mentoring, and onboarding of new CNA staff. Ensure completion of CNA responsibilities including rounds, repositioning, toileting, documentation, call light response, and resident safety measures. Monitor unit organization and cleanliness throughout the shift. Assist with resolving minor staff concerns or workflow issues and escalate concerns to nursing leadership when appropriate. Participate in shift report and ensure effective communication between shifts. Assist licensed nurses during emergencies, admissions, transfers, or significant resident events. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards at all times. Perform other duties as assigned within CNA scope of practice. Qualifications Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Utah. Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred. Prior leadership or senior CNA experience preferred. Ability to effectively lead and communicate with staff in a professional manner. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks during overnight operations. Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift. Ability to safely transfer and reposition residents utilizing proper equipment and body mechanics. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
