Medical Billing Specialist

This is NOT a remote position. Duties

• Review and verify medical billing information for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denials to ensure timely reimbursement
• Resolve billing discrepancies and answer inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Stay updated on insurance regulations, coding changes, and billing procedures Skills
• Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, and insurance guidelines
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
