As a member of the team at Hilker Inc, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and instruments according to specifications. This position involves interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machine operations and sequence of tasks. You will monitor machines during operation, ensuring quality and accuracy of finished products through regular inspection and measurement, and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and setup CNC machines for daily operations, including loading raw materials, inputting programs, and calibrating equipment.
  • Operate CNC equipment to manufacture parts according to technical specifications and production schedules.
  • Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve technical challenges.
  • Maintain detailed records of production, machine settings, and quality checks.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training preferred.
  • Prior experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with machine programming, setup, and operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
