CNC Machinist Job Summary:

We are looking for individuals who specialize in either Milling or Turning who can float between various CNC machines within our Machining Department based on their specialization. This individual will perform a series of complex machine operations including setup and programming to meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements.

Responsibilities:

Set up, load, and operate CNC machines to produce parts per prints Read and edit G&M code and/or utilize conversational programming Set up fixturing and come up with set ups on machine Perform first piece and in-process quality inspections using the metric system Set up cutters in holders and adjust height and length Read drawings/prints to identify operations, specification, and tolerances Meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements Use various hand tools to finish parts and check Use measuring devices like micrometers and calipers to ensure specifications are met Perform operator maintenance tasks like oiling, greasing, and cleaning the machine (5S) Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve fixturing and other essential equipment as needed Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent 5 years of CNC lathe or CNC mill set up and programing experience Strong math skills and the ability to work from detailed and involved part drawings and specifications to perform operations to the capacity of the machine and controls Willingness to move between work centers

Preferred Qualifications:

The ability to set up and operate multiple axis machines or machines with live tooling is a plus 5-axis experience is a plus Ideal candidate will have experience editing G-Code as well as manual programming or conversational programming Ideal candidate will have experience performing multiple setups per day, as well as running different grades of material and running high mix/low volume jobs Mazak experience a plus
