CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist - First & Second Shift 20% Shift differential for 2nd shift. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for first shift (Tuesday-Friday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM). This role is responsible for machining component parts to precise dimensions and tolerances while meeting assigned production hours. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically skilled, and committed to quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machine tools to perform complex machining operations requiring close tolerances and high-quality finishes. Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials. Inspect and maintain cutting tools to ensure sharpness and usability. Calculate and set machining controls, including speed, feed rates, coolant flow, and cutting depth/angles. Monitor machine operation to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments. Perform basic CNC programming and edit existing CNC programs to optimize performance. Clean and maintain machines, tooling, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation. Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Qualifications Ability to operate a variety of machine tools for progressive machining operations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong mathematical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities. Demonstrated accountability, discipline, trustworthiness, and proactive work ethic. High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred. Experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment, including:

CNC VTL CNC

horizontal mills CNC vertical mills CNC horizontal lathes Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes. Proficiency using precision measuring instruments and maintaining machining equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Items over 50 pounds require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
