Jobs › Billerica, MA › CNC Milling set up machinist/oper… Alpine Precision LLC CNC Milling set up machinist/operator Billerica, MA Apply We are looking for skilled CNC setup and operating specialists who can independently set up and operate CNC mills or lathes to produce high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate has strong machining knowledge, experience reading blueprints, and the ability to hold tight tolerances. CNC programming experience is a plus. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, accuracy, and keeping production running efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC milling machines or CNC turning centers/lathes Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and adjustments for production runs Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment Verify part dimensions and ensure components meet required tolerances and specifications Troubleshoot basic machining issues and make necessary adjustments Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition Fabricate or finish parts using hand tools and power tools when needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work with team members to improve efficiency, quality, and production flow Qualifications Proven experience as a CNC machine operator, setup operator, or similar machining role Ability to independently set up CNC mills or CNC lathes Experience working in a manufacturing or precision machining environment Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team Knowledge of CNC programming and CAD/CAM software is a plus Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required; technical machining training or certification is a plus Why Join Alpine Precision?
