Commercial Door Installer Position Overview:
The Commercial Door Installer is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial doors in a variety of settings, including office buildings, retail spaces, industrial facilities, and other commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing various types of commercial doors, such as metal, glass, and automatic doors, and be knowledgeable about the hardware and tools required for the job.Key Responsibilities:
Door Installation:
Install various types of commercial doors, including swinging doors, sliding doors, and automatic doors. Ensure proper door alignment, securing hardware, and making necessary adjustments to ensure functionality and safety. Cut and frame door openings as needed, ensuring a precise fit for doors and hardware.Repairs and Maintenance:
Diagnose and repair issues with doors and door hardware, such as malfunctioning hinges, locks, or automatic systems. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure doors are in good working condition and meet safety standards.Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with clients to ensure their needs are understood and met during installation and repair processes. Provide advice on proper maintenance of installed doors and hardware.Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during the installation and maintenance of doors. Ensure all work meets local building codes and regulations.Equipment and Tool Management:
Use a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, levels, and specialized door hardware tools. Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members and supervisors to complete installation projects on time. Assist in training new installers or apprentices as needed.Documentation and Reporting:
Complete job orders, work logs, and other necessary paperwork. Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor or manager promptly.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in commercial door installation or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of door hardware, tools, and installation techniques. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot door issues. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Reliable transportationPhysical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs or more). Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. Comfortable working in various weather conditions and different job site environments.Compensation:
