At Central MN Truck Academy , we are dedicated to training the next generation of safe, skilled, and confident truck drivers. Our students go on to pursue various careers from local or OTR driving, construction, landscaping, agriculture, and more. We are looking for a CDL Driving Instructor to join our team part-time or full-time . We are seeking someone who either has prior experience as a CDL instructor or a company driver trainer and is willing to become a licensed instructor . (Don't worry, we'll help you get your license if you aren't a licensed instructor yet!) This position is perfect for someone who has spent some time in a truck, loves the industry, and wants to pass on their knowledge. Training hours are flexible —work when it fits your schedule and the students' availability. Many of our students work regular jobs, so we sometimes train in the mornings, evenings, or weekends, as well as regular business hours. You let us know when you want to teach, and we'll pair you with students that want to learn during those times.

Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on, behind-the-wheel training to students working toward their Class A CDL. Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback. Ensure training is conducted in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Demonstrate patience and professionalism while working with students of varying skill levels.

Qualifications:

Must hold a valid Class A CDL and have held it for at least 3 years . Experience driving commercial vehicles (over-the-road, local, or specialized trucking). A relatively clean driving record (minor infractions considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval by the MN Dept of Public Safety). Prior experience as a CDL instructor or trainer is preferred, but we are also open to candidates who are willing to become licensed instructors. Passion for trucking and teaching —patience and strong communication skills are a must!
