Job Description

We are a union mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Hydronic/Refrigerant piping mechanics for commercial and institutional projects. Work includes schools, healthcare facilities, municipal buildings, and other large‑scale commercial installations. Qualified candidates must be capable of performing high‑quality work in accordance with union standards, job specifications, and site safety requirements. Duties & Responsibilities Install, modify, and repair hydronic systems , including hot water, chilled water, steam, and condensate piping Install refrigerant piping for commercial HVAC systems, including VRF/VRV and split systems Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications Lay out, cut, groove, thread, weld, and braze pipe as required Install pumps, valves, coils, heat exchangers, and related mechanical equipment Perform pressure testing and assist with equipment start‑up and commissioning Maintain compliance with jobsite safety regulations and union work practices Coordinate work with foremen, general contractors, and other trades Qualifications 5+ years of commercial steamfitting experience Proven experience with both hydronic and refrigerant piping systems Ability to work from prints and specifications with minimal supervision Welding and/or brazing experience required OSHA 30 preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship Compensation & Benefits Union wages and benefits per applicable CBA Steady, year‑round commercial work Overtime opportunities as available Safe, well‑managed job sites Long‑term employment opportunities
Pay:
$68.00 - $125.00 per hour
