Commercial Insurance Agent

Job Summary We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Customer Service / Renewals Agent with a strong sales mindset and a passion for client retention and growth. In this role, you will manage policy renewals for our contractor clients, acting as a trusted advisor while identifying opportunities to enhance coverage, improve value, and strengthen long-term client relationships within the construction and contracting industries. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee commercial policy renewals with a focus on retention, cross-selling, and upselling, while delivering a high-quality client experience. During slower renewal periods, you will support revenue growth by assisting with new business quoting, lead follow-up, and client outreach, ensuring consistent engagement and a seamless sales-driven client journey. We welcome candidates who are either currently licensed or willing to obtain their Property & Casualty Insurance License within 90 days of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the renewal process for commercial lines policies, including Bonds, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Commercial Auto, and Inland Marine, with a focus on contractor clientele Review expiring policies and proactively communicate with clients regarding renewal options, changes in coverage, and potential savings Re-shop and rewrite policies when better terms or coverage options are available for the client Collaborate with account agents to coordinate delegation of renewals, ensuring clear communication and a smooth handoff Processes Additional Insured requests and assists the support department with clerical duties as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the agency management system Assist with quoting and servicing new business when renewal volume permits Stay current on industry trends, underwriting guidelines, and market changes relevant to contractors' insurance needs Ensure compliance with all regulatory and carrier-specific requirements

Qualifications:

Active Property & Casualty Insurance License, or ability to obtain within 90 days (required) 2+ years of experience in customer service, account management, or sales preferably within contractors or construction-related risks Familiarity with commercial lines products and coverage types (preferred) Strong communication, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills Proven ability to identify opportunities, overcome objections, and drive client retention High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and sales activities simultaneously Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

Compensation & Commission:

9% commission on renewals 7.5% commission on re-writes Base Salary $28.00/
