Howell, MI Hybrid Work Chem-Trend Limited Partnership The Commodity Buyer is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to support the Purchasing and Supply Chain functions. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates pricing and terms, ensures compliance with company standards, and collaborates cross‑functionally to ensure reliable supply, cost control, and continuity of operations. The Commodity Buyer analyzes market trends, supports demand forecasting, and serves as a key internal partner to ensure materials are delivered on time and without disruptions. Commodity Buyer Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify, evaluate, and select long‑term suppliers aligned with business needs Manage and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular communication, meetings, and performance reviews Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to achieve cost optimization and supply reliability Coordinate and facilitate supplier meetings, technical reviews, and business reviews Monitor market conditions and industry trends to support sourcing decisions and risk management Identify issues and implement proactive solutions to address supply, pricing, or performance challenges Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience required Experience using SAP (purchasing modules and vendor master data), preferred Experience managing strategic or long‑term supplier relationships required Experience in purchasing, sourcing, or commodity management Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiation and contract management The Freudenberg Group is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion.
