Communications Lead Provides site‑level leadership for internal communications, external relations, and change communication to support safe, reliable operations and business objectives at the Luling site; Develops and executes integrated communication strategies that build employee engagement, support organizational change, and maintain strong community trust; Acts as a trusted advisor to site leadership and a liaison between the site, employees, and external stakeholders, in alignment with corporate and regional communication frameworks. #
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
  • Serve as a member of the extended site leadership team and act as a trusted advisor to site leadership on communication strategies and priorities;
  • Develop and deliver the Luling site communication plan in partnership with the Site Leader, Site Leadership Team, Safety, HR, and operational teams;
  • Provide communication counsel and messaging support for site priorities, operational changes, and leadership initiatives, ensuring consistent, timely, and effective communication across site channels (e.g., intranet, digital tools, events, and leadership forums);
  • Lead site change initiatives through structured communication and engagement activities, coordinating closely with training and organizational development efforts to support culture, inclusion, and engagement objectives;
  • Assess communication effectiveness using feedback and insights, and adjust approaches to improve employee understanding, engagement, and alignment with business objectives;
  • Lead site‑level external communications and community engagement activities to protect and enhance the Bayer reputation in Luling, including managing the Community Advisory Panel (CAP) and maintaining proactive dialogue on site plans, issues, and community concerns;
  • Direct community investment, outreach, and charitable activities in line with site and corporate guidelines, and serve as a member of site crisis or emergency communication structures as required.

WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences and channels;
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and build trust‑based relationships across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders;
  • Sound judgment in handling sensitive issues and stakeholder interactions, with a strong sense of responsibility for protecting and enhancing the company's reputation;
  • Solid project coordination and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines in a dynamic environment;
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions, demonstrating a proactive, inclusive, and solutions‑oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, HR, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, or change communication within a site or industrial environment; 10 years of experience preferred. Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $109,280.00
  • $163,920.
00 .Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
