Job Description

The Operations Director of Community Health is responsible for leading a dynamic, outcome-driven portfolio of programs and services designed to address health disparities, nutrition and food insecurity, improve health education and decrease the prevalence of chronic disease in western North Carolina. The Operations Director of Community Health leads the daily operations of Community Health services throughout the region. This includes but is not limited to providing support and guidance to staff, participants and volunteers, coordinating services with community partners, healthcare providers, employers, fellow YMCA departments and funders, and ensuring that each program/service achieves quality performance outcomes. This position works with health seekers, employers, community leaders, YMCA leadership and representatives from the public health, clinical, and managed care communities. The incumbent must have a passion for service and improving the health of our community. They must also possess the ability to work with data, lead others, be detail oriented and have exceptional organizational and communication skills. This position must ensure program responsibilities are performed in accordance with the commitments made to funders, partner organizations and the policies, goals, values, and mission established by the YMCA of WNC.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and 4 years relevant experience or 5 years of experience in similar position in lieu of education. 4 years professional experience in program leadership, product innovation and fiscal management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be willing to obtain YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification within a specified amount of time. Working knowledge of personal computer skills and experience with standard business software. Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines, as well as being detail-orientated and conscientious. Good interpersonal, public relations, and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations.

This role may frequently require working outdoors in a variety of environmental and weather conditions. Frequently required to reach with hands or arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift /or move up to 30 pounds. Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
