Job Description

Lake of the Woods Association, Inc. (LOWA) is seeking an organized, energetic, and community-focused professional to serve as our next Community Operations Manager. This position plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of community amenities, recreational programs, events, and facility coordination throughout one of Virginia's premier private residential communities.
Job Overview:
The Community Operations Manager oversees operations related to the Community Center, Fitness Center, pools, snack bars, parks/pavilions, recreational spaces, and community events. This individual will work closely with staff, vendors, volunteers, committees, and residents to ensure amenities are well-managed, organized, and member-focused. This is a highly visible role requiring strong communication skills, operational awareness, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
Coordinate daily operations of community amenities and recreational facilities
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; some college preferred Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience Prior experience in community operations, recreation management, hospitality, event coordination, or facility management preferred Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Comfortable working independently and carrying projects through completion Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to interact professionally with residents, guests, volunteers, and staff CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or ability to obtain) Valid Virginia driver's license required Must successfully pass a criminal background check
Schedule & Working Conditions:
Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Evening, weekend, and holiday work may occasionally be required based on events and operational needs Must be available during emergencies or community operational issues Position may involve both indoor and outdoor work environments Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted required Schedule and supervise Community Center, Fitness Center, and seasonal staff Assist with planning and execution of community events, youth activities, and seasonal programming Coordinate facility reservations, calendars, and event logistics Work with vendors and contractors regarding maintenance, repairs, and operational needs Support pool operations alongside the pool management company Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and operational cost control Promote amenities and events through community communications and outreach Support board meetings, town halls, Zoom meetings, and other community functions Maintain positive relationships with members, committees, instructors, and volunteers Assist with campground operations, fitness center oversight, and recreational programming as assigned Perform other operational and administrative duties as needed LOWA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
