SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Entry-level professional positions begin at this level. Provide home and community-based family services, including crisis intervention, counseling, skill building and advocacy. This is a 24-hours a day, seven days a week program.

Work Schedule:

full and part time hours, including evenings and weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must be able to maintain a flexible, accessible, and responsive work schedule.
• Have skills in assisting youth in navigating formal and informal systems
• Advocates for the youth and builds advocacy skills with the youth.
• Provides individualized coaching and skill building
• Schedule and complete client intake according to program policy.
• Conduct holistic, strength-focused assessment process.
• Provide a range of clinical, concrete and advocacy services to family members that are consistent with the family's values, learning styles, lifestyle, circumstances, and culture.
• Be aware of and respond appropriately to potential safety issues.
• Provide in-the-home and on-site education and skill building activities.
• Provide culturally and ethnically appropriate family services and intervention strategies.
• Utilize motivational enhancement and cognitive/behavioral strategies.
• Utilize a collaborative goal setting and teaching approach.
• Use effective strategies for engaging, defusing, and confronting clients through collaborative problem-solving techniques.
• Develop and facilitate linkages for youth and families with community resources and informal supports.
• Solicit feedback and input from the youth and family about all aspects of the intervention.
• Implement discharge process at end of intervention.
• Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
• Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics, and other requirements.
• Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
• Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
• Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
• Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal or external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or video media.
• Creates, maintains and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
• Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible to contribute to the agency's ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
• Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site.
• Performs other program related duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
• Experience with in-home services preferred
• Valid Driver's license, acceptable driving record, must pass background checks as well.
