Job Description

What are you going to do Brunel is recruiting Completions Engineers to work in Spring, TX with our major Oil and Gas client. The Completions Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, execution support, and optimization of completions programs for unconventional wells. This role provides technical leadership to ensure wells are delivered safely, cost-effectively, and in compliance with regulatory and operational standards, while meeting geological and reservoir objectives. The engineer will work closely with drilling, subsurface, operations, and external teams to support multi-well development programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed completions engineering designs Coordinate all phases of well planning and execution Develop well programs optimized for cost, performance, and operational risk Ensure alignment with geological and reservoir objectives Provide technical support to drilling and completions teams Support field execution through: Real-time surveillance Troubleshooting Continuous improvement recommendations Collaborate with Operations Supervisors and Remote Operation Centers Perform modeling and analysis (e.g., hydraulics, torque & drag, equipment performance) Evaluate and implement new technologies Identify risks, deviations, and optimization opportunities during execution Develop cost estimates and perform economic evaluations Steward well costs throughout the lifecycle Conduct post-job cost reconciliation and reporting Select and qualify completion tools, materials, and service providers Prepare and evaluate technical bid packages Support tendering and procurement processes Monitor contractor performance and KPIs Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, permits, and approvals Maintain adherence to industry standards and best practices Lead or support non-productive time (NPT) and failure investigations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field 10+ years of relevant experience in unconventional completions Experience working across drilling, subsurface, and production teams Strong knowledge of: Completions design and operations Equipment and industry standards Read more Essential skills and knowledge
