POSITION SUMMARY
The Compliance Officer will be independent of both casino operations and casino management. This individual will be required to have the capability to make intelligent decisions, professional and unbiased decisions relative to regulatory and compliance issues. Understand and interpret all NIGC regulations, IGRA, MICS, SICS, State-Tribal Compact, Casino Policies, and Tribal Ordinances. This position is scheduled for the 11pm- 7am shift.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of tasks to assure compliance with provisions of the Tribal Minimum Control Standards (MICS), Tribal Ordinance, National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) rules, our SICS, and Tribal-State Compact regulations. Ensure confidentiality of all information in the Gaming Commission Office including but not limited to information from federal, tribal or state law enforcement and the state gaming agencies. Provide help and oversight to casino management, casino operations, and all subcontractors or providers to the casino. Report to the Compliance Supervisor/Gaming Commission, regarding the failure of any person, or entity, to comply with regulations and provision of the State-Tribal Compact, Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Commission Regulations, and/or any other applicable laws, ordinance, or regulations. Be responsible for the protection of the gaming facility, and gaming operations from illegal activity. Identify, and at the direction of the Commission, ensure that all persons engaged in criminal activity are removed from the facility. Help with patron complaints as directed within the gaming premises and assist in seeking resolution of such complaints. Ensure the physical safety of patrons and employees. Oversee and ensure the physical safeguarding of assets moving from the casino floor to the Cashier's Cage. Prepare written reports on any regulatory infraction/incidents encountered and submitted to Compliance Officer Supervisor/Gaming Commission at the end of working shift. Attend and participate in departmental meeting as scheduled by the Gaming Commissioner. Observe, document, and report all activity not within established rules and regulations that govern our gaming establishment (i.e., Policies and Procedures). Randomly test the integrity of gaming software and assist in slot machine maintenance. Assist the Commission in the audits of the various departments. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License. A drug test is required prior to employment and may be required periodically thereafter. Must be able to work any shift and be self-motivated. Must be of high moral character and established integrity and be willing to sign an oath of confidentiality. Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment. Be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic computer applications. Working knowledge of slot operations and the Indian Gaming Industry preferred.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess a high school diploma or high school equivalency (GED) and two (2) or more years of experience with gaming operation. Three (3) years of experience in developing controls and procedures and working with investigative processes. Surveillance background is preferred.WORKING CONDITIONS
(PHYSICAL/SCHEDULE/HOURS):- Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
- The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision.
- Acute hearing is required.
- Frequently must be able to lift up to 10 pounds, normally must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, and occasionally must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May be exposed to loud noises and smoke found in a casino environment.
- Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions.
