Job Description
Notice of Job Opening George County Board of Supervisors Comptroller & Employee Benefits Manager The George County Board of Supervisors is seeking to hire a full-time Comptroller and Employee Benefits Manager. This is a bonded position that reports directly to the George County Board of Supervisors and works closely with all County Elected Officials and Department Managers. This position's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparing the County's annual budget, disbursement of County funds, responsible for audit compliance, employee payroll, oversight of the County's property, inventory, and liability insurance policies; Management of employee benefits with health and life insurance, Workers Compensation, and PERS retirement. Qualified candidates must have a business or an accounting degree from an accredited community college or college/university; direct work experience as a bookkeeper or finance manager is favored, work experience managing employee payroll and benefits, and job experience working with multiple department budgets. Effective communication both orally and in writing with the County Supervisors, Elected Officials, personnel, auditors, etc. will be needed on a regular basis. The Comptroller & Employee Benefits Manager position has a full range of job benefits, such as: individual employee health care provided at no cost, optional dental & vision, life insurance, approved overtime, yearly vacation, paid federal holidays, paid sick time, job training, and state retirement. This position's starting salary range between $55,000 to $65,000 a year based on education and work experience. Salary and compensation will be discussed during the job interview process.
