Job Description
Category Imaging - CT Job Type Contract Advance your career in medical imaging by performing computerized tomographic (CT) procedures in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract opportunity will enable you to utilize your technical skills and patient care expertise while working collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Explain CT examination procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the process. Review clinical data and requisitions, obtaining additional patient history when necessary to tailor exams appropriately. Prepare the procedure room and restock supplies, maintaining readiness at all times. Analyze patient anatomy, set up and operate CT equipment, and perform scans according to established protocols. Administer intravenous contrast media using power injectors, monitor patients for possible reactions, and provide immediate care if necessary. Assist radiologists with complex sterile diagnostic procedures, such as biopsies. Follow best practices in radiation protection, including using shielding and dose-reduction techniques. Manage images and workflow using PACS and RIS systems—ensuring image quality, accurate indexing, and timely study completion. Confirm clinical protocols with radiologists before starting studies, as needed. Maintain complete and accurate documentation within patient records and radiology systems. Demonstrated proficiency in CT imaging and familiarity with general diagnostic radiology procedures. Experience operating CT scanners and administering IV contrast. Skilled in using PACS and radiology information systems. Strong commitment to patient safety, quality assurance, and following ALARA principles. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and contribute positively to team dynamics.
