Construction Estimator

Duties Develop comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using industry-standard software. Xactimate capabilities are a plus. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure favorable pricing and contract terms. Prepare detailed cost analysis reports including material costs, labor estimates, equipment needs, and project timelines to support accurate bidding processes. Conduct site visits to gather firsthand information on existing conditions, logistics, and potential challenges that could impact project costs or scheduling. Manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring expenditures against budgets and implementing corrective measures as needed. Review construction contracts and scope of work documents to ensure all aspects are accurately estimated and aligned with project requirements. Assist in project management activities by providing reliable estimates that support scheduling, resource allocation, and overall construction management strategies. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles and practices. Proficiency in estimating software such as Jobber; Solid knowledge of construction site operations, materials pricing, labor productivity rates, and cost control techniques. Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors while maintaining quality standards. Ability to interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications, and contracts accurately. Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines. Construction site experience is preferred to enhance understanding of on-the-ground realities impacting estimates.
