Construction Estimator and Sales Support

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced construction estimator to join our estimating and sales support team. KBS Builders is a fast-growing company in the exciting modular construction industry. Our estimators undertake a wide range of estimating and sales activities in support of our modular manufacturing operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the sales team to develop estimates for residential and commercial projects.
• Maintain pricing programs and cost standards.
• Develop creative solutions that balance cost, ease of construction, and value to customers.
• Analyze construction documents and develop plans to ensure projects are delivered on-time, on-budget, and meet customer expectations.
• Establish job cost standards for projects.
• Routinely review cost standards for kits and assemblies.
• Assist finance and purchasing to maintain inventory costs in our ERP.
• Assist sales department in completing quote requests for builders.
• Work with purchasing and operations teams to create material schedules for projects.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in MS Office or related software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred background in Construction.
• Proficient with Microsoft excel.
• Ability to read prints and specs.
• Create concise scopes of work.
• Knowledge of construction practices in all trades.
• Familiarity with planswift or equal on screen take off program.
• ERP experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
