Job Description

Payne & Payne Builders, located in Chardon, OH, is in search of an experienced Project Manager to join our nationally award winning company. Payne & Payne Builders has been a family owned and operated business since being founded in 1993. We are seeking a qualified Project Manager to support new residential construction projects in the greater Cleveland area. The Project Manager collaborates with Division Sales Managers and Site Supervisors to create a smooth process for our homebuyers, which includes managing all aspects of residential construction including design, estimating, coordination of schedules, inspections, monitoring permits, daily oversight of subcontractors, and managing customer experience.
What You'll Do:
Manage $5M
  • 6M in annual project volume across multiple residential builds Guide clients through the entire preconstruction process, including: Scheduling and leading meetings, coordinating internal teams and outside resources, developing estimates and formal proposals, maintaining schedules and communicating timelines Serve as the primary client point of contact, providing weekly project updates, clear communication on progress, costs, and next steps Support construction execution by coordinating handoff to field teams, assisting site supervisors as needed, managing and processing change orders Oversee project financials, including weekly review of subcontractor and supplier invoices, maintaining cost-to-date tracking and forecasting, supporting monthly financial reporting Maintain and manage systems including BuilderTrend (financials, documents, project data), Project Tracking Files (PTF) and documentation standards Lead project closeout by preparing closing packages and coordinating final walkthroughs and client meetings
What You'll Need:
Experience in residential construction project management (design-build preferred) Strong ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through Proven ability to problem-solve, communicate clearly, and take ownership Comfortable working with project financials, estimating, and cost tracking Proficiency with construction software (BuilderTrend or similar a plus) Alignment with core values: Build it like it's your own Constantly improving Committed to the customer experience Team-first mindset All in
