About Us:

Bucktail Medical Center (BMC) is a 12-bed Critical Access Hospital located in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds in Clinton County. We offer an array of services to Renovo and the surrounding communities, including emergency care, radiology, laboratory services, acute and swing bed inpatient care, outpatient clinic services, and rehabilitation therapy.

Position Overview:

Bucktail Medical Center is seeking a Controller to support the CFO in all daily financial operations. Responsibilities include month-end close review, financial analysis and action planning, daily key performance indicator monitoring, and oversight of supply chain and revenue cycle operations. The Controller will assist in safeguarding hospital assets and ensuring that financial statements and records are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP. This role also provides hands-on training, continuous improvement, and support to department leaders and staff related to financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare BMC's monthly financial reports Develop the annual detailed operating budget Prepare routine forecasts as needed for internal, commercial, and governmental purposes Perform timely reconciliations (e.g., bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, income statement accounts) Prepare financial analyses for management and Board of Directors meetings Complete the annual cost report and external audit client-prepared workpapers Prepare journal entries and review the general ledger for accuracy and completeness Maintain fixed asset accounts and depreciation schedules Oversee billing, collections (A/R), accounts payable, payroll functions, and cash flow Ensure all business office procedures comply with CAH regulatory requirements Utilize and maintain proficiency in Excel and other electronic reporting tools Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Success Factors:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 1-4 years of experience, preferably in healthcare Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, preferred Ability to operate standard office equipment Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines

Pay:

$89,440.00 - $114,400.00 per year
