Controls Automation Engineer

Controls & Automation Engineer Position Summary We are seeking a Controls / Automation Engineer to support and improve automation systems within a discrete manufacturing environment. This role focuses on PLC programming, robotic systems, and production equipment including robot weld cells, brake presses, powder coat booths, and material handling systems. This is a hands-on role requiring strong troubleshooting skills and plant floor support to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems Develop logic for auto/manual modes, fault handling, and sequencing Support robot weld cells and integrate robots with PLC systems Work with brake presses, powder coat systems, and conveyors Develop and improve HMI screens and alarms Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics Support safety systems (E-stops, light curtains, interlocks) Troubleshoot production issues and implement permanent fixes Support equipment upgrades and new installations

Qualifications Required:

PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) Manufacturing environment experience Hands-on troubleshooting experience Ability to read electrical schematics Experience with industrial robots

Preferred:
