Job Description

The Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated manufacturing equipment used in the production of automotive fuel injectors. This role supports high-volume, precision manufacturing by ensuring PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, and related control systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled automated manufacturing equipment, including assembly lines, test stands, and machining cells Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLC logic, HMIs, sensors, actuators, drives, servos, and safety circuits Support equipment using common industrial control platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, Keyence, etc.) Perform electrical troubleshooting using schematics, ladder logic, and technical documentation Assist with robotics troubleshooting and recovery, including end-of-arm tooling and safety systems Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve uptime, cycle time, and process stability Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve chronic issues Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new or modified equipment Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and plant procedures Document repairs, changes, and improvements per plant standards Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities Required Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience as a Controls Technician or Automation Technician in a manufacturing environment Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and modification Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems (24VDC, 120/240VAC, motors, drives) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control logic Experience supporting high-volume, automated manufacturing equipment Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work on the manufacturing floor for extended periods Willingness to support off-shift or weekend work for breakdowns or launches (as required) Stanadyne is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, gender, color, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status or any other protected class.
