As a Cook, you'll play an essential role in creating that environment—by preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals and ensuring the kitchen runs safely and smoothly. We are seeking a dependable, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual who wants to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adolescents in residential treatment. You'll be part of a close-knit Food Services team that values professionalism, flexibility, and respect across all interactions—with youth, staff, and one another. This is an ideal position for a motivated individual looking to start a career in food services! Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare three nutritious, well-balanced meals daily for youth and staff Follow established menus, recipes, and any special dietary instructions Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and organization of kitchen, food storage, and cottage kitchen areas Participate in kitchen inventory, food deliveries, and quality control Contribute to departmental planning, food services meetings, and special events Provide support during staffing absences, weather emergencies, and holidays
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Willingness and ability to become certified in Food Safety and Allergen Awareness Experience in institutional or commercial food service preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills A commitment to consistency, cleanliness, and safety All applicants must pass a background check and provide a reference from a recent supervisor Valid, current driver's license for 3 or more years and acceptable driving record Stevens offers a competitive benefit package, including paid vacation leave, employer contribution toward individual or family medical/dental insurance plan, 401K plan with company match, and much more.
