Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team at Viper Elementary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our students while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the daily lives of children by providing healthy meal options in a supportive educational environment. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals and snacks for students, ensuring all dietary needs and preferences are met. Plan menus in collaboration with school nutrition guidelines and seasonal availability of ingredients. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including proper storage and handling of food items. Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling and cleanliness standards. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with school staff to accommodate special dietary requests and food allergies. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition. Assist in the supervision and training of kitchen staff and student volunteers. Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory, and meal counts. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or relevant certification preferred. Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a school or institutional setting. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to prepare a variety of meals and accommodate special dietary needs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed. Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and schedules. Passion for promoting healthy eating habits among children.
