Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines while ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation. Assist with menu planning and provide creative input for seasonal meals and special events. Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures are followed at all times in compliance with health and safety regulations. Prepare ingredients including chopping, mixing, portioning, cooking, and plating meals accurately and efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment including workstations, equipment, refrigerators, and storage areas. Monitor food inventory and assist with stocking supplies and minimizing food waste. Serve meals in a courteous and professional manner while supporting a positive dining experience for residents and guests. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, caregivers, and management to ensure smooth daily operations. Assist during special events, holidays, and community functions as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department, assisted living community, restaurant, hospital, or food service setting preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations. Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures. Experience preparing meals for seniors or special dietary needs is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills. Reliable, professional, and compassionate attitude. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as needed.
