Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled cook to join our team. This role is demanding and essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our store by providing exceptional food service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry, with experience in preparing soul food, food safety, and proper cleaning practices. Responsibilities Prepare and cook your food. Our cooks have the freedom to make things their way, so long as their way is good! Assist in menu planning to ensure a diverse offering for clients. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen and dining areas. Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients. Serve meals in an appealing manner while adhering to presentation standards. Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed at all times. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and workspaces. Requirements Strong background in food preparation and southern cooking. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling food. Familiarity with menu planning Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable. (ServSafe Certified is even better) Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
