Job Description
Job Overview As a Correctional Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily activities of inmates, ensuring compliance with facility rules and regulations while fostering a safe environment for both staff and inmates. This position requires a strong sense of integrity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism. Duties Monitor inmate behavior and activities to ensure compliance with facility regulations. Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including cells and common areas, to maintain security. Utilize CCTV systems effectively to observe inmate movements and prevent incidents. Respond promptly to emergencies, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities as part of standard documentation procedures. Collaborate with law enforcement personnel when necessary and assist in investigations as required. Administer first aid and CPR when needed, ensuring the health and safety of all individuals within the facility. Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills in areas such as militarized response tactics and conflict resolution. Experience Candidates should possess relevant experience or qualifications that demonstrate their capability in this role.
Preferred qualifications include:
Certification in First Aid and CPR. Experience or training in conflict management techniques. Familiarity with law enforcement practices or previous experience in a correctional setting is advantageous. Proficiency in report writing to accurately document incidents and daily activities. Knowledge of CCTV operations is beneficial for effective monitoring. This position requires individuals who are committed to upholding the law while ensuring the safety of all individuals within correctional facilities.
