Job Description

We are looking for a cook for our events center primarily on weekends. We typically book a month ahead, so you will always know your schedule in advance. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a "day job" and wants to pick up something extra on weekends. We have our menu and recipes set with good processes in place that we can train. This is bulk cooking, so experience in that area would be a plus. The work is primarily always on weekends. Pay is an hourly rate based on experience plus tips. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items with precision, creativity, and efficiency for events of all sizes Assist in menu planning to accommodate special dietary needs and event themes, ensuring variety and quality in every dish Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients to streamline service times Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards throughout all stages of food handling and preparation Collaborate with catering and service teams to ensure timely delivery of hot and cold dishes during events Manage kitchen inventory, monitor supplies, and assist with ordering to keep the kitchen well-stocked and organized Uphold high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen area, including equipment maintenance and waste disposal Qualifications Proven experience in food industry settings such as restaurants, catering, or fine dining establishments Strong culinary skills with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife handling Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety regulations is essential Excellent food handling skills with attention to detail in presentation and flavor balance Previous kitchen experience demonstrating ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment Familiarity with food service operations including serving, food industry standards, and catering logistics
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
