Primary Purpose:
Coordinate academic support services for identified students at the elementary level. Collaborate with instructional personnel to provide leadership, support, classroom modeling, coaching, and staff development to teachers in related subject-area. Provide support in adaptation and planning of the using the 3 Tier Response to Intervention (RTI) process. Work cooperatively with administrators, special education staff, curriculum coordinators, classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to design, implement and monitor interventions designed to help students achieve academic success.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification Bachelor's Degree from accredited university Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with Required Endorsements for Subject and Level Assigned Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of curriculum and instruction assigned grades or subject Knowledge of intervention instructional strategies and best practices Ability to instruct students and manage behavior Ability to interact positively with students, parents, and educators Ability to analyze data to provide intervention support to at-risk students Ability to utilize technology and information resources Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience Three years successful teaching experience Demonstrated knowledge and experience in intervention instruction preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies
  • Organize and facilitate the Response to Intervention (RTI) Team.
  • Implement the three-tier RTI instructional system to increase student achievement.
  • Gather academic and behavioral data through classroom observations, interviews with teachers, parents, and students, and review of student history including report cards, work samples, testing information, and curriculum-based assessments.
  • Monitor student progress and ensure interventions are implemented with fidelity.
  • Document and analyze student progress using graphs, charts, and progress monitoring tools.
  • Stay current with RTI trends and research-based interventions to provide effective instructional support and intervention strategies.
  • Assist in planning and delivering professional development related to the identification, instruction, documentation, and evaluation of students served through RTI.
  • Assist with the coordination of curriculum, instructional services, and other programs designed to meet the needs of at-risk students Compliance and Program Support Ensure campus RTI processes are implemented, documented, and maintained within established timelines and district procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of district special education processes and procedures.
  • Compile, maintain, and file required physical and electronic reports, records, and documentation.
  • Provide documentation and progress monitoring data to administrators, counselors, diagnosticians, and the Special Education Director as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies and state and federal laws and regulations. Management and Organization
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the District Discipline Management Plan, Student Code of Conduct, and campus handbook.
  • Take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Communication
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, students, principals, teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff.
  • Collaborate with staff to interpret student data and determine instructional goals, objectives, and interventions.
