Exempt Job Summary Position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating programs related to students, including but not limited to: the Virtual Virginia and other online programs, homeschool program, administration and testing facilitator for the alternative education and Reconnect programs, writing of the VPI grant, administration and monitoring of the VPI program, writing and administration of the Title IV grant, complete a minimum of one CLASS observation per VPI and ECSE classroom per year, coverage for building administrators as needed, and writing and administrating the ISAEP grant. The Accomack County Public School District's process calls for the development and high-quality implementation of programs and partnerships to serve students, parents, community stakeholders, and partnerships district-wide. Essential Duties To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Write, facilitate, and monitor the Virginia Preschool Initiative grant. Maintains CLASS certification Complete a minimum of one CLASS observation per year in each VPI and ECSE classroom. Act as the administrator for the Alternative Education/Reconnect program. Administer/facilitate all SOL and related testing for the Alternative Education/Reconnect program. Evaluate Alternative Education/Reconnect personnel. Write, facilitate, and monitor the Title IV grant. Write, administer, and monitor the ISAEP grant. Facilitate the GED program. Assist with the recruitment of staff through the attendance of job fairs. Monitor out of attendance zone issues. Oversee homelessness, foster care, and therapeutic services. Attend board meetings. Oversee homeschool applications and the Virginia online program; monitor alternative education/GED. Provide coverage for building administration as needed/requested. Work on special projects and provide administrative support in various capacities focused on human capital development and administration. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times in handling sensitive information, data, and issues. File truancy petitions as requested by the building administration. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, preferably in education. At least five (5) years of professional and/or supervisory experience in human resource management, educational leadership. or other related work experience that aligns with the Division's needs and goals. A valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration. Criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skill in managing projects and initiatives that achieved or exceeded ambitious goals. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times in handling sensitive information, data, and issues. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals. Ability to write reports and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of teachers, parents, students, and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, etc. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to operate office and computer equipment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Must have the ability sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone and enter data into a computer; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds; and to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk, and reach overhead. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Duties are usually performed in a school or classroom environment. Duties may be occasionally performed on field trips away from school. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
