Job Description
The Fleet and Facility Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the company's increasing fleet of vehicles, small construction equipment, and various gas and battery-operated landscape equipment as well as the facility. The Fleet and Facility Coordinator will be a self-motivated and reliable member of our team. This full-time position is located at our office in Silver Spring, MD with full-time working hours Monday through Friday. Responsibilities can change daily based on routine maintenance schedules, time-sensitive repairs, significant weather events, or specialized projects. Plan and coordinate regularly scheduled preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipm ent with outside mechanics and repair shops . Plan and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs around the facility. Maintain an accurate database of maintenance and repair records in our specialized software. Ensure proper safety standards and regulations are continuously followed and all vehicles are DOT compliant. Maintain a clean and organized shop and yard. Must be responsive and flexible with equipment issues or breakdowns the field crews may encounter. Check shop fuel tanks daily and refill when needed. Maintain, order, and track parts for all vehicles and equipment. Oversees shop inventory, orders parts, shop supplies, and equipment. Responsible for closing and locking up the fleet and facility at the end of the business day. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Attention to detail, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to make on-the-fly decisions. Basic knowledge of the maintenance and repair of vehicles, small construction equipment, and various gas and battery-operated landscape equipment. Prior experience using industry-specific customer management software (knowledge of Aspire CRM a strong plus). Snowplow operation, maintenance, and repair experience a plus. Ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to read service and repair manuals. Green industry experience preferred. Ability to speak Spanish preferred. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of related experience preferred. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to be insured by company insurance carrier. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Potential work hours during the snow season include nighttime, weekends, and holidays to participate in snow removal activities. Safely perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscape equipment and materials Lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time. Good vision to inspect repair work. Push, pull, grip, and squeeze various tools and products. Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
