Job Description

Established General Contractor that specializes in Sitework, Heavy Highway, Structural Concrete, Marine & Bridge construction seeking anexperienced Safety Professional to lead and strengthen our company-wide safety program. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated leader who is passionate about protecting people, building strong safety cultures, and making a direct impact on the success of major heavy civil construction projects. We are looking for a hands-on professional with a minimum of 10 years of field experience in heavy civil construction and safety management. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, respected leader, and proactive problem-solver who can work collaboratively with field and management teams to maintain the highest safety standards across all operations.

Position Summary:
The Safety Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all company-wide safety operations and ensuring compliance with OSHA, state, and company safety requirements. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel to promote a culture where safety is a core value on every project.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all company safety initiatives and programs Educate and train employees on health and safety procedures Conduct project site visits, inspections, and routine safety audits Identify and correct hazardous conditions and unsafe work practices Collaborate with field management to implement and enforce safety policies Conduct new hire safety orientation and
OSHA 10/30
Hour training classes Ensure all required equipment and specialized training is completed and documented Investigate incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions Maintain OSHA compliance and required recordkeeping, including
OSHA 300/300A/301
logs Coordinate reporting with insurance carriers and workers' compensation providers Provide PPE, signage, barriers, and other safety resources to project teams Monitor project operations to ensure compliance with company safety goals and standards Prepare reports and communicate recommendations to upper management Travel regularly to project sites to support field operations and safety compliance
Qualifications:
OSHA 30 certification required;
OSHA 500
preferred Minimum 5 years of construction field experience Minimum 5 years of safety management and training experience Heavy civil construction experience strongly preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to engage effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, and management teams Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Willingness to travel frequently to project sites We believe our employees are our greatest asset and are committed to maintaining a safe, professional, and team-oriented work environment where individuals can build long and successful careers.
